Preparatory work
The surface of the asphalt cement concrete, and must be carefully cleaned and purged of air under high pressure. For artificial drying or preheating the installation can be used for generating pressurized hot air.
Apply primer
The primer has a function of binding dust on concrete and asphalt, and forming an adhesive layer, which will enhance the adhesion of the applied sealant.
COLZUMIX ®-Haftgrund can be applied in the seams coating by spraying or brushing. The primer must completely cover the joint surface, forming a film. It is recommended that a strip of about 1 cm width on road surfaces on both sides of the seam.
Grouting
Before applying the sealant, primed surface must be dry to the touch and free of dust, to ensure good adhesion of the sealant to concrete or asphalt. Pouring sealant should be performed immediately after the primer has dried. Contamination primed surface dust or water reduces the adhesion of the sealant.
